Historically referred to as the Pool of London, the area stretching from London Bridge to just past Tower Bridge has a fantastic variety of attractions that include world-famous landmarks such as the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, historical treasures like the Old Operating Theatre Museum, and icons of modern design and architecture in the form of the Design Museum and City Hall.
Children will beg Mum and Dad to come again and again after a trip to the London Dungeon or HMS Belfast, while a growing art and theatre scene means that a vibrant night out isn't limited to the area's many pubs and bars.
Just a stone's throw from Tower Bridge and the Tower of London is St Katharine Docks, one of London's most exclusive marinas with stylish yachts and cruisers lined up along its berths. The restored waterside warehouses boast boutiques, bars and restaurants such
as the Medieval Banquet where you can tuck in to a four-course regal banquet and an exciting array of live entertainment by flickering torchlight in vaulted cellars. Celebrate the 500th anniversary of King Henry VIII's accession to the throne with his special guests in a show of festive pageantry.
As well as great attractions to visit, there are superb places to relax and take in some famous views including London's newest riverside park, Potters Fields Park, historic Hay's Galleria, and atmospheric Butler's Wharf. Of course by 2012 the area's skyline will have changed forever when Europe's tallest building - the Shard London Bridge - is completed.
